Product Details
Replica of a pendant with shape of a needle case, based on an original archaeological find from the Viking Era. Dated on the first half of the 10th century.
Decorated in the Jelling style, this needle case with a decorated plate was a very extended piece, especially on the whole Baltic Region.
These needle cases were part of the women clothing during the Viking Era and, although they could be made of bone or antler, the fact that it was made of bronze indicates the importance of the person who wore it.
It also means the importance of domestic works (like sewing) on their daily life.
This recipient must be used with a bit of virgin wool inside of it, in order to keep the needles attached inside the needle case.
This ornament used to be worn hanging from one of the turtle brooches with a thin chain
Hand-made of bronze.

Inner Diameter of tube: 7 mm.

It is possible to add to this item a double link natural brass chain.
