Beautiful pair of separators for chains or pendants. Replica of the archaeological find from Munsö, in Uppland, Sweden, near Birka. Dated from the 10th century.
These chain dividers were a very common fitting used by women during the Viking Age. Chain dividers were used together with the tortoise brooches, in order to divide the number of hangers to separate the different pendants of chains which hung from the turtle brooches.
