The Bandhelm (from German "Band" that refers to the strips, and "helm" meaning helmet) seem to be spreaded in central Europe during the Migration Period, and it's dated from the 5th to the 7th Century.
Many similar helmets were found in central Europe, as the exemplars from Trivières (Belgium), Bretzenheim (Germany), Shorwell (United Kingdom), Narona (Italia), Voivoda (Bulgaria), but many others with unknown origin are exhibited on museums and private collections.
It presents sets of rivets grouped three by three, making its construction solid and decorative in equal measure. This piece lacks suspension or interior padding, so it must be used with some type of protection, be it a wool hat or padded coif, which must be purchased separately.
Made in 2mm steel with 1,4mm steel strips. Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used on its manufacturing. The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil (No returns will be accepted due to this issue).
Leather chin strap included. The buckle is optional.
