The Franciska or Frankis axe is a one-handed war ax, useful for close combat and as a throwing weapon.
Popularized by the Franks, it was before a traditional weapon of the West Germans and was used regularly in the 5th to 8th centuries by the Franks, from the Merovingians to the Carolingians.
The head is forged from carbon steel. Sharp finish.
Measurements:
- Head length: 18 cm
- Overall length (with shaft): approx. 45 cm
- Weight: approx. 800 g
This weapon is a fantastic reproduction to be exhibited, however, although it is fully functional, for intensive use we recommend replacing the shaft with another of a higher quality wood.
