This lucet is a replica of the archaeological find from Northland, Norway, which was found in a farm at Sømhovd,.
The lucet is a medieval tool used to weave strings. It is believed that the first lucets date from the Viking era.
This type of tool was used during the Middle Ages throughout Europe and the string obtained with this technique was mainly used in clothing.
This lucet presents a carved decoration: geometrical shapes and lines, and a zoomorphic motif that seems to represent some kind of bird.
The original is 22.1 cm long and 6.4 cm wide; and it is made of whale bone.
For this version, its size has been reduced to 10.5 x 3.5 cm with a variable thickness of 4 mm; and the material used is beef bone.
Felicidades por vuestra estupenda empresa. Realmente, sois serios, rápidos, de una cortesía maravillosa y vuestros productos son verdaderamente excelentes. Todo un lujazo para los que somos amantes de la historia. Gracias.
