This discoidal shaped brooch is a replica of the one found in the finding of Gnezdovo, Russia. Dataep from the 10th century.
The original was made of silver with the granulation/filigree technique. Our replica, although it's casted in brass, shows with accuracy all details of this antique technique.
It includes a semi-precious stone in the center.
A brooch with similar characteristics was found in grave 965 of Birka. This style of brooches are called "Terslev" type because of its similarity to the technique used to create an amulet found in this site.
